1990 Edition: Birth of the Nineties

Welcome to the first week of Nineties Nostalgia on SYN!
This week we go back to the year it all began, 1990. And like the first year of every decade, it was a weird mesh of artists trying to define a new era, freaking out, and reverting back to the familar comforts of the 80s.
MC Hammer, I’m looking at you. Ditto Vanilla Ice. Although I do remember wearing a lot of fluoro tracksuits that made that signature swish-swish noise during my childhood, so maybe Vanilla Ice was more ahead of the curve than anyone gave him credit for!
Signs of the great change to come started to reveal themselves this year as well though, thank god, and there is some prime Kurt Cobain crazy eyes to enjoy on Youtube in the video for the 1990 Nirvana single, Sliver.
Sit back, bust out a bean bag and let the revertigo set in!
