1991 Edition: The Earth Begins to Shake

Week two of Nineties Nostalgia and the year is 1991. Steve Martin is still a comedian, not an art critic, Marky Mark is the Justin Bieber of the day and a new sound for a new decade is starting to make itself heard in a big way.
This is the year of Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Metallica and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers all sharing the space on the airwaves. Twenty years later and parents are still telling kids to turn down THAT noise!
Back at home, the Divinyls and Crowded House were making a poppier sound that still managed to test the boundaries.
Chrissie Amphlett was telling us she thought about you, and only you, while she was touching herself, and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers just didn’t stop touching themselves on stage.
The nineties were getting sexy and the ladies in Salt N Pepa weren’t afraid to talk about it!!
