Australia’s increase in Medicare claims

Minister for Health, Sussan Ley, has recently announced statistics highlighting the growing number of Australians claiming Medicare services across Australia.

Minister Ley said the medical services “cupboard needed a deep clean” but the President of Australia’s Medical Association, Professor Brian Owler, believes these statistics might be used by the government to influence the Medicare Benefits Scheme.
