Bianca reports on the CBAA Conference
Just thought I’d post a lil recap blog about my time at the 2014 CBAA Conference held in RADELAIDE a few days past…
So, it was my second time visiting South Australia, and it really was fantastic to be back!
Thanks to SYN, they were able to fly all us YML’s over for the conference, and put us up in a great (but slightly maybe haunted :S) hotel for 5 days! Woohoo!
After flying in late Wednesday arvo and settling in, we were off to a great start with Thai for dinner (mmm PHAD TAI ^_^). After catching up with other SYNers, it was soon time for sleeps… as we had another big day ahead!
Today was Thursday! We kicked off the day bright and early for our first lot of workshops…
First workshop- Content taken by Bec Petraitis
Second workshop- Report writing with Danae Gibson
Third workshop- Marketing with Tahlia Azaria
Afterwards, more fun times were had with a tour of Radio Adelaide, greetings with other CBAA conference attendees and a tour of Fresh 92.7!
Friday= First day of the CBAA conference!
Today I met some great people during the plenaries, youth caucus and workshop sessions. I was told of their inspiring stories about how they engaged youth into their community stations.
I also learnt some new skills, particularly during the social media development workshop.
BUSIEST DAY OF THE CONFERENCE!!
On this day I…
-Attended workshops again and learnt about Google Adwords, Google Analytics, Mail Chimp, Hootsuite and Online Image Editing!
-Sat on the panel of a Q & A session on Youth Engagement….Eeep :S
-Experienced the CBAA gala awards night and had fun times in the photo booth!
A big breakfast and farewells were shared as this marked the last day of the CBAA conference L
Overall I had a wonderful time at the conference. It was very insightful and I am so excited to apply the knowledge learnt from the people met and the workshops to my own media hub back in Gippsland!
