3D Printing, organs and guns

3D printing has been in the spotlight recently after revelations it may be used to create new organs and body parts.  But in the midst of a debate on gun control in the US, it has also emerged that 3D printers can print plastic guns that can fire bullets.The US government has asked for gun plans to be removed from the internet. But the gun plan and instructions of 'The Liberator' were downloaded more than 100 000 times before they were removed and already appear on sites like Pirate Bay.
