Cheaper to rent? Maybe not

Have you been struggling to find somewhere cheap to rent? Turns out you’re not alone. A recent rental affordability index report has shown what most young Australians already know- renting in Australia is simply not affordable for low-income households.

There have also been strong links between this dramatic rise in rental prices and the number of Australians experiencing homelessness.

So what needs to be done to make renting in Australia more affordable?

Reporter Tara Cosoleto finds out.
