Episode 3: Horror Comedy Sequels – 11/05/2014 – The Good, the Bad, and the Box Office

GBBO20week203.jpg

Our Mother’s Day special, focusing on movies your mother doesn’t want to watch! The delightfully specific genre of horror comedy sequels is discussed on this episode of the Good, the Bad and the Box Office. Our good film is Evil Dead 2, a proto Burton plasticine gore fest that inverts the tropes of its predecessor. Our bad flick is Scary Movie 2, a series of poorly written drug references that totally undermines any credibility the first Scary Movie clung to (warning: Til sighs a lot when talking about this film, it’s becoming a bit of a trend). Finally, our box office film is one that never saw the light of the big screen: Fright Night 2: Fresh Blood (and yes, it’s as disappointing as that lazy surtitle suggests). This show first aired on Sunday May 11 on SYN 90.7.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we could not properly emulate a poster for a horror comedy sequel (we don’t own that much fake blood). Luckily, photoshop is a thing. Unforntunately, we’re not very good at it.
