Family of Iranian refugee launch legal action against the Australian government.
Reza Barati was killed during an asylum seeker protest in the Manus island detention centre in 2014. Dozens were injured in the same incident. Barati’s family is now seeking justice, and will fight the Australian government and security firm G4S, in court.
Reporter Sahar Foladi spoke with University of Melbourne lecturer in criminology Dr Claire Loughnan about the legal proceedings.
