Free Music Industry Careers Workshops
FReeZACentral, in partnership with SYN, will deliver a free, accredited music-industry-career-workshop focusing on radio.
Experienced trainers will come together with established professionals from the industry to provide an introduction to working in the music industry with a key focus on radio.
Workshop presenters will cover performance, technical production, event management, music business, radio broadcasting and marketing & publicity – what’s involved in their positions as well as career opportunities available in these sectors; all with a radio slant.
Young people aged 15-25 are eligible to attend but must register by calling The Push on 03 9380 1277 or going to http://www.freezacentral.vic.gov.au to download a registration form.
FReeZACentral, a Victorian Government initiative funded by the Department of Planning and Community Development, as part of Victoria Rocks program, and managed by The Push, has been operating since 2004.
In addition to the annual workshop program, FReeZACentral includes an annual mentoring program, where 50 young people are mentored by music industry professionals over 6-8 months and organise a tour and CD release. This year young people from across the state participated in the mentoring program, including those from around Melbourne, as well as Geelong, Kyabram, Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo, Echuca, Horsham and Whittlesea.
