Get Cereal: Young Australians of the Year Interview

Orange Sky Laundry is Australia’s first mobile laundry service.Originally for the homeless, the custom fitted vans have been servicing parks and drop in centres across Australia with two industrial washers and dryers in each van.

The service is based in the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney, South Eastern Victoria and Brisbane, where best mates Lucas Patchett and Nic Marchesi founded the service in July 2014.

But it’s not just the homeless who the pair has been helping. During last year’s cyclones in Queensland Nic and Lucas helped those in disaster-stricken areas to wash their clothes. Most recently they headed down to Lorne to bring a smile to those affected by bushfires.

And if that wasn’t enough, the duo headed to Canberra last month but this time for a totally different reason. Both Lucas and Nic have the honour of being Young Australians of the Year.

Lucas joins the Get Cereal Wednesday team
