Recognising Outstanding Service to SYN - Jessica Crouch
Each year at SYN we have a huge number of people who put in hours of time and energy, both on-air and behind the scenes. There are many volunteers who put their hands up to attend to stalls out in the community, to design posters for events, to create web graphics and to tone their biceps holding boom mics.
At our SYN Awards event, we recognised the work of a passionate, dedicated and visionary volunteer who volunteered for more than five years, and served as SYN's President for two years.
Congratulations Jess Crouch, and huge thanks for your mammoth contribution to SYN.
Jess began as a radio broadcaster at SYN back in 2004, and volunteered in many roles through until 2009. She was a publicity coordinator, editor of a SYN zine, creator of many policy and organisational documents and a Board member.
From 2006-2009 she served as SYN's President. In this role she demonstrated a vision for SYN's growth and sustainability that was far-reaching and ambitious.
Jess was truly a quiet achiever - she always maintained a focus on SYN's broader impact and goals, allowing our staff and volunteers to get on with the fun tasks of media-making and engaging youth voice.
Thanks again Jess for your tireless commitment to SYN. It truly was above and beyond the call of duty!
