Interview: Actor Tom Byers – Teleny
Art Smitten had a chat to actor Tom Byers who is performing as Camille Des Grieux in the Fly-On-The-Wall production of Teleny. This will be Tom’s debut performance on stage in Melbourne. Born and raised in Hobart, Tasmania, with experience in singing and dancing, Tom has performed across Tasmania in various styles of theatre from juggling as a harlequin clown in torrential rain in garden shows to performing naked in the annual political satire, The Uni Revue. Drawn to British drama’s and black comedies, an erotic Oscar Wilde production of love and identity was too good an opportunity and challenge to pass up. Tom has been constantly involved in stage and screen productions since 2008, featuring in productions of: As You Like It, Pride & Prejudice, The Sound of Music, Cabaret and The First-Fagin.
