Interview: Filmmaker Patrick Pearse – ‘Ellery in Paris’

Ellery-in-Paris-Hero.jpg

All hands are on deck in the nerve-wracking lead up to her first presentation in Paris. Boyfriend Luke is busy painting, Ellery’s team is fielding endless requests and models must be booked. However Ellery’s cool determination ensures everything is on track for a successful debut.

Filmmaker Patrick Pearse closely shadows the designer over an intense three days of fittings, mini-dramas and music making. Ellery speaks candidly about her many influences, especially her love of art, even incorporating some of Ben Baretto’s unconventional woven works into her premiere Paris collection. Chloe and Nabila from Art Smitten had a chat to Patrick about the production.

Interviewers: Nabila Petrucci and Chloe Watson
