SIMPLE AS THAT!
You may not know it, but SYN is knee-deep in software development for community broadcasters.
If you have dabbled with the Java, PHP, Javascript or Perl programming languages, and think you can code more than a Hello World, then we have a number of volunteer dev projects that could occupy those summer evenings not spent at the beach.
You'd need to work at home in your own time, with a good dosage of online guidance and collaboration. A regular informal catchup at SYN (weekly or so) would also be part of the gig.
While it is a voluntary opportunity, everything we write is open sourced, so you can repurpose whatever you write for world domination. There's also the possibility it could lead to further work next year; if your mad skills are 1337 enough.
These projects have real, tangible benefits for SYN, and your efforts would have a direct impact on the workings of the organisation next year.

Seriously, right now.
In Joke, SYN's flagship comedy show is looking for writers. We want to let you get together with some like minded writers, have a chat, have some laughs and come up with some awesome ideas.
Because we're a new format of show, there is plenty of room for original ideas. We're after sketches, poems, music, clown acts, whatever puts a smile on your face.
We're going to be meeting up at the House of SYN at 7pm Thursday 14th May to hat what we can do content wise. I'd really like you to bring 3 ideas with you,
whether they're skits or scripts or segment ideas, we just want to see what you've got!
