Labor MP Snowdon removes inappropriate link from Facebook page

Federal Labor MP Warren Snowdon has been forced to remove an inappropriate page from his official Facebook account, after liking it by “mistake.”The page ‘Leaked Snapchats: 18+’ had appeared in Mr Snowdon’s list of ‘Likes’ since Thursday, before its removal on Saturday.”That “like” was a mistake and I will be removing it from the page,” Mr Snowdon said in an email to SYN News.”Thank you for bringing it to my attention.”Leaked Snapchats 18+ has now disappeared from Facebook altogether, after gathering more than 50,000 followers in less than four days.The page was believed to be a scam designed to obtain usernames and passwords from Facebook users. It contained two explicit images of young women and invited followers to click on a link to see further uncensored images.The pictures on the page supposedly came from SnapChat, a photo messaging service which automatically deletes images after just a few seconds.Mr Snowdon, who represents the sprawling Northern Territory seat of Lingiari, is certainly not the only political figure to encounter trouble on social media. Just a few weeks ago, Liberal pollster Mark Textor was forced to shut down his Twitter account, after one of his tweets likened an Indonesian minister to a “1970’s Pilipino (sic) porn star.”Eddie Williams
