Melancholy_2.png

Did you know it’s currently Mental Health Awareness Week in Australia?

This week long initiative aims to raise awareness and provide support for the one in every five Australians who have mental health issues.

But is this event effective in reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness?

Reporter Tara Cosoleto finds out.

** Please note, this report does discuss suicide and mental illness. So if you or someone you know needs support, please contact Lifeline on 13 11 14, Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800 or beyondblue on 1300 22 4636 **
