ROCHELLE FLACK (HOST)
You can catch me during the day…
From 9-5 I’m a resident digi marketing bae at ‘Everyone’s Favourite Hardware Store’ you know, the one with the hammer? But outside of that I manage Casual Band Blogger – the music website I founded a few years ago. That involves shooting shows, interviewing some amazing bands and everything in between. All together, It’s a lot of late nights and early mornings.
Favourite band/artist?
Whenever someone asks me this I usually yell at them for asking me such a difficult question and then start naming my top 5 local and international artists. This is no different, SO HERE THEY ARE:
Local:
The Smith Street Band, Marlon Williams, City Calm Down, Safia, Haitus Kaiyote
International:
The Wombats, Muse, The Maccabees, Foals, Circa Waves
But there’s so many more. SO MANY.
Favourite album?
Keep in mind that my favourite album changes every few months, BUT, As of right now, it’s In Colour by Jamie XX. Everything about it is bloody magical.
Best tune of 2015?
A tie between Northeast Party House’s ‘Perfect Lines’ or the dream collab between Cosmos Midnight and Kučka – Walk With Me. Both tracks which just grabbed me from the get go :’’’)
If I was in a band…
We’d probably be a 2 star rated band on Triple J Unearthed, but we’d be trying, And that’s the main thing.
RHYS POPE (HOST)
You can catch me during the day…
Out on the streets taking photos, caring for my plants or just while browsing the webs.
Favourite band/artist?
My favourite artist changes almost monthly, but right now I’m really loving Lapsley. Her vocal style and production really stands out from similar artists.
Favourite album?
Mark Ronson – Version, I’ve sung along to ‘Valerie’ at countless parties and road trips.
Best tune of 2015?
There were so many great songs in 2015, but I feel like everyone from the mainstream and the not so mainstream loved Disclosure and Lorde – Magnets
If I was in a band…
I would probably playing keyboard with Hot Chip.
BRIDGET HUSTWAITE (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER)
You can catch me during the day…
Either sleeping after a mid dawn shift at triple j or at my day job booking holidays for errybody.
Favourite band/artist?
FOALS FOREVER. Definitely my favourite band, but my favourite AUSTRALIAN band is Northeast Party House. If we are also talking solo artists, Ben Howard.
Favourite album?
Ahhhhh this is hard and I’m the one who put these questions together, why I do dis to myself? “I Forget Where We Were” by Ben Howard is an absolute killer, gets me every time. FEELS. And also “Apocolypso” by The Presets!
Best tune of 2015?
The Paper Kites – Electric Indigo. Such a moody, 80’s soaked late night jam and a bold departure from their initial folk sound. Love them, love this.
If I was in a band…
I’d totally play drums because I did that for like, a semester in year 9. Or maybe I could whip out the trombone? I played that in Year 7 & 8.
