Rebecca Maree talks pop-punk covers & debut single ‘Hearts’

Singer-songwriter Rebecca-Maree joined Maddy and Stefan in the #MoshpitonSYN studio for Aus Unplugged! Rebecca talked about her YouTube covers, writing her song ‘Magnet, and the launch of her debut single ‘Hearts’.

“Being normal is boring,” Rebecca-Maree quotes from Marilyn Monroe, and this 23-year-old singer/songwriter from Melbourne is anything but boring. She speaks and sings her mind in a ‘no holds barred’ kind of way, and this intense honesty and strength of character can certainly be heard in her music. With catchy pop-sensitivities combined with a rock n’ roll attitude, her debut single ‘Hearts’ has been described as Katy Perry meets Paramore hanging out with No Doubt.

With live performances littered with sarcasm, colour, laughter, lollies, and above all catchy tunes, Rebecca-Maree might live in obscurity now, but her endearing qualities are quickly building her a following in around her home city of Melbourne.
