SYN Bloggers is today at the Screen Futures: Youth Festival at Federation Square.
We heard a discussion from Wendy Orr, author of the well known childrens novel ‘Nim’s Island’, at the Screen Futures Youth Festival. Wendy discussed the process of a novel to film adaption, and her role in the film production itself. The rights to Wendy’s novel were bought by Hollywood producer Paula Mazur, and sold to Walden Media. The film ‘Nim’s Island’, starring Jodie Foster, Gerald Butler and Abigail Breslen, was released in 2008 and made over $100 million at the box office. Tori Schmid talks about these things and more in this interview with the author.
