Banter banter banter. That’s the name of the game in radio, and that’s what we did for you this week. About music, weekends, and TV shows.
 
As part of Scene & Heard we discussed what is arguably not technically a ‘scene’ per se, but a definite trend: artists who have broken away from their bands to make it big solo. Just to name a few: Julian Casablancas (The Strokes), Paul Dempsey (Something for Kate) and Kram (Spiderbait). Listeners all seemed to be neither for nor against artists going solo, the love tends to be spread equally it seems.
 

 
We debriefed on what was a rather shocking episode of Skins (Season 4, Episode 7), which appropriately finished with Nick Cave’s “Into My Arms.”
 
For Old vs New we discussed The Subways – having only released two albums since their debut in 2005/06, the UK trio have moved to a slightly harder, more Alt-Rock feel in All or Nothing in comparison to a more pop (yet still edgy) sound in Young For Eternity. You may recognise the following off their first album:
