SYN is not a rich organisation. We are a completely independent, not-for-profit organisation that relies on our community to support us.
How is SYN funded?
Contrary to public perception, SYN is not directly funded by RMIT University or the Government. SYN derives most of its income from education and training programs, sponsorship and promotional activities. In the past, our funding was supplemented by contributions from university student unions. Unfortunately, this has ceased since the introduction of Voluntary Student Unionism legislation in July 2006.
Why does SYN need YOUR help?
Our volunteers are energetic, but they're not rich. We need your help to continue doing what we do best - engaging the youth of Melbourne and making innovative media.
