Moonlight Cinema; open air cinema under the stars in the heart of the Botanical Gardens. Be sure to take a picnic and set up early on a blanket or two. Perfect for a cute date, or a group outing with some mates. There are bean bags for hire as well as many food trucks to satisfy your appetite.
Rooftop Cinema; open air cinema on the Curtin House rooftop, the heart of Melbourne on Swanston street. Sit back and relax on the comfy deckchairs set out for you on arrival. If you’re feeling pekish then grab a burger and fries before the film starts. A great way to start the night, then continue to party the night away as the rooftop becomes a bar.
Drive-In Cinema; there are various drive in cinemas around Melbourne, but I must recommend the Coburg Village cinema. Great in any weather, you can curl up in the car with popcorn and a blanket or take the top off your convertable and enjoy the summer air. Recommened for couples, as someone will draw the short straw of the backseat view.
Southgate Free Deckchair Cinema; book your tickets the night before and enjoy a new movie every Tuesday night. Grab dinner along Southgate beforehand and plug your headphones in for a relaxing deckchair cinematic experience. Who could turn down a free movie?
