Can Dr Plonk and Get Ceral save the world?
Rolf de Heer, director of Dr Plonk, a new slapstick comedy featuring Nigel Lunghi, Magda Szubanski, talks to Get Cereal about his latest film.
Dr Plonk is a comedy about the end of the world, shot in the slapstick-style of Charlie Chaplin.
It's the year of 1907 and Dr Plonk, a scientist and inventor, has calculated that the world will end in 101 years.
Being the lateral thinker that he is, Plonk invents a time machine and sets out to the very future he is trying to save. But little from the future helps Plonk, as his efforts to alert the appropriate authorities cause him to fall foul of the law.
Thus, Plonk becomes a hunted man with the entire nation's law enforcement system out to get him. Can Plonk save the day?
