“The Fool” – WARPAINT

Los Angeles four-piece Warpaint are set to release their debut album The Fool on October 22nd 2010 via Rough Trade / Remote Control.
Warpaint weave intricate guitar lines, hypnotic vocals and driving post-punk rhythms into gorgeous, sprawling songs that skirt the line between the soundscapes of psychedelia and intimacy.
Recorded in a gym in Los Angeles, The Fool was produced by Tom Biller (Liars, Jon Brion, Sean Lennon) with further mixes from Andrew Weatherall (New Order, Primal Scream, Bjork) and Adam Samuels (John Frusciante, Daniel Lanois).
Since releasing first single ‘Undertow’ last month, Warpaint has garnered attention the world over. In a mere  24 hours after making the single available online, it was streamed or downloaded over 20,000 times and was hosted by influential music sites including Pitchfork, Gorilla Vs Bear and Fader.
Onstage, Warpaint’s disarmingly authentic package can shake a room into a dance frenzy while simultaneously holding it in a trance-like dream-world. Playing to many captivated audiences, Warpaint has opened for Yeasayer, Black Heart Procession, The Slits, Akron/Family, Band of Horses, School of Seven Bells and The Walkmen, as well as performing at the 2009 CMJ Music Marathon.  And now the band will be touring Australia for the first time, performing at the Laneway Festivals in February 2011.
