Things I’ve Learnt: Day Five

1. Syn is an awesome place to do work experience

Today’s the last day of my work experience placement. It’s been an amazing week, you really learn a lot.

The day started off with doing some recordings and voiceovers for the Schools on Air program with Anita. Annie and I took turns reading the intros and outros, and we also got to choose the songs that’re going to be played in between the segments.

Next was ripping CDs, and then we listened to podcasts off of the SYN website to find content for The Best of SYN with Bec. I listened to some pretty great stuff, there was a show that talked about bad fake tan experiences, and another that talked about traction and socks and injuries.

And that’s basically it for my last day. I think I enjoyed playing around in the recording studio the most, and it was also really interesting and informative working with the News team on Wednesday and Panorama yesterday. Annie and I missed out on working with 1700, but I still feel that this week has given me an amazing insight into workings of the media and radio world.
