Training

Training courses

SYN offers young people aged 12-25 the chance to learn all about making radio: studio technical skills, on-air announcing, planning a show, media law, community broadcasting codes of practice, and applying for a show on SYN. SYN is also developing a television training program similar to our radio training program.

SYN has a range of activities and programs for schools and groups that provide unique learning opportunities to students from all backgrounds and skill levels. Our programs teach digital and multi-literacy to young people from Victoria, providing a hands-on way of learning that engages young people. Throughout the year, SYN also hosts a series of workshops and learning events for students and teachers.

If you would like more information about SYN's school and workshop programs, please contact SYN's Education and Training Manager, Nicole Hurtubise, or phone 03 9925 4693.

These resources teach a range of skills, from how to operate a hand-held microphone for an interview through to using editing programs like Windows MovieMaker and iMovie to cut video footage.
