Young Australians are losing out to older workers

A recent report from University of Tasmania researchers has shown youth unemployment rates are consistently on the rise.
As of January 2016, the Australian youth unemployment figure stands at 12.65%.
But why is this the case? And is anything being done to stop the growing trend?
