Job Vacancy: SYN General Manager
SYN Media is now recruiting for the full-time ongoing position of General Manager. This is a rare opportunity to lead a young, thriving organisation with big ambitions.
The General Manager will be responsible for leading the daily operations and major projects that SYN undertakes and will be a role suited to someone brimming with energy and dedicated to participating in the future of community media.
SYN Media is an independent, not-for-profit media organisation that is committed to providing broadcasting and media training opportunities for young people across Australia.
The General Manager will be responsible for implementing SYN’s plans as developed with SYN’s Board. The General Manager will be responsible for managing SYN’s staff, reporting directly to SYN’s Board.
The role requires fine judgement in managing people and projects and a willingness to seek new opportunities aligned with SYN’s values of access, participation, innovation, independence and diversity. The role will be responsible for maintaining and developing positive relations with partners and our community to ensure the success and longevity of the organisation.
In addition SYN’s General Manager will be courageous and not afraid to take risks. The General Manager will be thorough and intuitive, great at collaborating and at bringing out the best in others. The General Manager will also be passionate about media and the potential for young people, regardless of background or qualification, to reach an audience through community broadcasting.
