11 shows join the SYN radio grid in Season 2
Remote broadcasting continues to open new possibilities for SYN volunteers, with eleven shows joining SYN’s seasonal radio grid commencing Monday, April 19.
This includes seven seasonal programs, six of those being new to SYN in 2021. For lovers of local music, there’s The Trans-Tasman Tour: a virtual tour of Australia and New Zealand, traveling to a new city each week; and Locally Verified, going behind the scenes with independent and emerging artists and getting a snapshot of the local industry. Input will feature a different playlist every week, with themes ranging from the simple to the abstract, while Nervous Nellies listeners will have the word “smooth” scrubbed from their vocabulary after just one listen!
Wondering what the best letter in the alphabet is? A to P returns to answer this important question. Looking for more abstract questions? Hypothetically Speaking has you covered, taking their hypotheticals to the streets and the socials.
These seasonals join Get On The Go, reviving the age of Woodstock for today’s generation.
Five new programs have commenced on the SYN grid produced by young people outside of Melbourne. At 2BOB Radio in Taree, On A Sidenote shares stories and music from the Manning Valley, and joins fellow youth programs Feedback Loop, Those Were The Days and Flashback Friday.
Content from Woroni Radio returns to SYN, with four new shows made by students at the Australian National University, Canberra. No News Is Good News takes a comedic approach to the week’s news, while Don’t Govern My Dog combines politics with cinema. Rounding out our Woroni roster is Frisson, an eclectic mix of electronic music, and a look at the world’s biggest song contest in It’s Eurovision.
