Take Care 11/08/15

Tilly and Alana are running this. This week the girls take a slightly more serious turn and talk about topics in the media that are close to our hearts. We discuss:

– The trailer for upcoming movie Stonewall and question if it’s whitewashed (hint, it is)

– Tangerine, a film Tilly saw at Melbourne International Film Festival and more sensitive depictions of the trans community (i.e how it should be done)

РA Podcast that also deal with similar issues, namely How To Be A Girl by Marlo Mack & recent Guardian article exporing gender non-conconformity

– Public vs. Private schooling education and the inherent class divide in the Australian education system

– Our favourite writer of the week (it’s Durga Chew-Bose. Look her up)

– Miles Teller’s revealing interview with Esquire and a brief look at Hollywood’s treatment of actors (eyes on you, Oscars)
